Please ensure each pre alert is forwarded to the following emails
When forwarding the pre alert to Import@cfl.aero the subject of the email needs to be changed to : UKBF followed by the flight number and date of arrival.
For example
UKBF CX251 07.12.2017
When we receive the Copy entries for the shipments that is indication that the shipments have been cleared and we can send our drivers to CFL to collect.
The only exception to this procedure is that at present the Bags that arrive from Russia for FLIPPOST and CITMOW are not being sent to CFL straight away. At present they arrive at a company called ASC and HCH collect the bags for us and transfer them to CFL.
Every morning we need to call HCH and quote the MAWB Numbers and flight numbers for our bags and ask HCH to arrange the collection from ASC and transfer the bags to CFL ASAP.
The contact number for HCH is 0208 7504143 option 1, option 1
Inbound MAWB Prealerts – Freight
We also receive pre alerts for Shipments coming in as Freight. These shipments follow the same instructions as cargo with the exception that they are collected from either the DHL shed or Menzies and not CFL.
Therefore we do not have to send a copy of the prealert to Import@cfl.aero.
With Freight shipments we cannot collect the shipments until we receive a collection note from CBS as the driver must present this at the freight shed when collecting the shipment.
Clearance charges
Some of the shipments that are sent to us have VAT and Duty to be paid.
The amount of Duty or VAT to be paid on a shipment can be seen by looking at the copy entry / Training entries.
When there is Duty or VAT to be paid CBS will email us to confirm if we are happy to pay. We must confirm these charges with the Company that has sent the Pre alert before we accept the charges.
We must also be mindful that all charges that CBS provide us are in GBP and several of our customers are charged in Euros so we must convert the GBP charges into Euros before contacting our customer.
In addition we charge an admin fee of 15 GBP or 10% of the total clearance charges whichever is greater. This is because CBS charge us 5% of the charges extra for using their deferment account. This charge must also be converted to Euros if the customer is charged in Euros.
With Regards to inbound Pre alerts if you are unsure of anything please speak with Phups before taking any action.
